"I am happy to share with all those have not had the pleasure of their daughter being a part of Daughter's United in Christ. My daughter and I had a challenging relationship. I would speak and my daughter would interpret it in a negative way; my daughter would speak and I would take it the wrong way. We seemed to pass each other never really connecting on arguments, discussion or conversations each thinking the other is being viewed in a negative way. I prayed, we prayed, I spoke, we spoke and we would continually end up arguing. This went on for a long time it seemed. Don't get me wrong, we love each other but verbalizing was difficult. In comes, ms Anderson, who my daughter first hit heads with, then came to admire, then quickly grew into her best teacher and role model.
Before long, there are talks about forming a group for young ladies. I was excited, my husband apprehensive. I shared with him that I thought our daughter needed guidance, praise, challenge and support from someone other than us. When we would try we would end up arguing or being angry with each other.
Our daughter attended bi-weekly meeting and immediately I saw a calmer child. Later, a more tolerant child, and still later a more respectful child.
I believe GOD answered our prayer, our daughter's and us, parents. Ms. Anderson (Mrs. Smith now) answered GOD'S call to assist us parents in doing something we as parents could not accomplish, being a mentor where we could not.
Now, I have a young lady I am so proud of, who has worked extraordinarily hard her senior year, who has spoken in an eloquent and profound way to my Women's Group of thirty moms and made me SO proud. My daughter is growing into the young lady I always knew she would be. To this I owe to GOD, my husband, Daughters United and Ms. Anderson.
Thank You, Thank you, Thank you!!!"

"As a parent, I am 100% devoted to the mission of Daughters United in Christ, led by Ms. Shena Anderson. DUC has introduced my daughter, Taylor, to a true sisterhood. My daughter has embraced a sisterhood which nurture's and promotes spiritual principles, growth, respect, compassion, and accountability for ones actions. Since joining the group, Taylor has flourished from her shell of extreme shyness. Outside of family and close friends, Taylor didn't care to interact with other's, let alone be involved in a group or activities that consisted of sharing your feelings from time to time. I never thought she would be as comfortable with opening up and confiding her strengths and vulnerabilities with other's, until DUC. Taylor was always anxious to participate in every meeting. Her mind, body and soul was spirituality led and fed. This involved learning and growing through every facet of life that a young lady faces, personally, socially, emotionally and economically. It's been difficult for me to condense and share all that DUC has not only done for my child, but me as well. I've gained a friend that's like family to me, in Ms. Anderson. As a parent, oftentimes our children can't or will not openly communicate with us, so it's been comforting to know that she had a safe, encouraging and judgement free environment, in which to do so. This could only be done accordingly by a person that you trust and have bestowed faith in to help guide your child in a positive direction. Ms. Anderson is the vessel that has honored me as a parent by assisting and equipping my young lady in following a spiritual, positive, productive, and successful path."

"Daughters United in Christ has been such a tremendous blessing to my daughters and our family as well. I have always prayed that my daughters be surrounded by positive, God-fearing people and He has answered my prayers by divinely placing Ms. Anderson in their lives. Through her passion and dedication to young girls, she has provided the much-need support outside the home and the reinforcement of spiritual values that I have taught my daughters. Further, Ms. Anderson has established a safe platform for them to openly discuss the challenging issues faced by young women and equipped them with knowledge to make wise choices. She inspires them to dream big and encourages a dependence on God's Word for their direction to realize those dreams. As a result of their involvement in Daughters United in Christ, my girls seem more empowered and confident because of the unique experiences Ms. Anderson has created. I will eternally be grateful for allowing God to use Ms. Anderson as a positive force in my daughter's lives."
